Saturday's fair attendance tops 10-year average

Posted October 14, 2012

Saturday's attendance at the North Carolina State Fair was 118,433, according to Brian Long, public affairs director for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The 10-year average for the first Saturday is 107,370, Long said.

Last year, more than 1 million people attended the fair over its 11-day run. Organizers say they hope to reach the 1 million mark for attendance for the third year in a row.

If entries for various competitions are any indicator, this year's fair could be the biggest yet.

But I thought the economy was so bad under Obama? Isn't the sky falling republicans. every restaruant, retail store, etc... i've been to in the last 2 years has been packed. Unlike 2007-2009 when Bush's economic collapse was happening.
