$120 Million Cash scratch-off game

— A Sanford woman is North Carolina’s latest millionaire.

Vickie Richmond scratched off a $20 lottery ticket Wednesday night to find she won a $1 million prize.

“Words can’t describe what I’m feeling. My life changed overnight,” Richmond said in a statement released by the North Carolina Education Lottery.

Richmond bought the lucky ticket for the game $120 Million Cash at the Short Stop on West Main Street in Sanford. She collected her winnings Thursday, opting for a lump payment of $415,206 after taxes.

“I almost hit the floor when I saw I had won,” she said. “I kept looking at it to see if it was really real. I couldn’t sleep because I was afraid it was a dream.”

Richmond, a quality control officer, said she will use the money to pay off her house and take a vacation.

How is she a millionaire when the payout was only $415k. What a scam.

Hmmmm, I would say she was not NC latest Millionaire.... Even taking the long pay out wouldn't be a million after taxes. But I'm happy for her. I bet she has friends now she didn't even know about.
