SANFORD, N.C. — Sanford police were looking Monday for the person they said shot two men Saturday night, killing one of them.

When officers arrived at Sabor Latino restaurant, at 147 Rand St., just after 10 p.m., they found Teofilo Ramos, 48, of Sanford, dying of a gunshot to the chest.

Officers learned that another man, Oscar Mendez, 32, also of Sanford, had been shot in the arm. Mendez was treated for his injuries at Central Carolina Hospital and released.

Police did not offer a description of the suspect and had not made an arrest Monday, but they said warrants were on file in the case.
