Sanford man injured in crash
A Sanford man was injured in a crash around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 1 south near mile marker 74.

Eugene Michael Kelly was driving a 1999 Acura when he drove off the road and crashed the back of his car into a tree, according to the Lee County Highway Patrol. He was pinned in the car. No one else was riding with him, troopers said.
Emergency crews took Kelly to Central Carolina Hospital and the transferred him to UNC Hospitals. His condition was not released.
No charges will be filed. Troopers said rainy conditions were a factor in the crash and that Kelly was not speeding.
