Sanford man facing murder charge in weekend death
Sanford police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a man found outside an apartment building Sunday morning.

SANFORD, N.C. — Sanford police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a man found outside an apartment building Sunday morning.
Lynard Jerome McCormick, 30, of 1105-G Juniper Drive, faces one count of murder in the death of Williams Amail Howard, 28, of the same address.
Police were called to the apartment around 8:40 a.m. to find Howard lying on the ground outside the apartment with a puncture wound to his neck.
Authorities have not said how the two men knew each other, nor have they provided a motive for the crime.
McCormick was being held without bond Sunday afternoon in the Lee County Jail.
