— A candidate for the Sanford City Council has been arrested on a fraud-related charge, police said.

Ervin Fox is charged with obtaining property by false pretense after a man told investigators that Fox charged him $350 for a document that he claimed would renew the man's driving privileges, police said.

Fox was charged with the same offense a week ago involving similar circumstances, police said.

Another one caught with their hand in the cookie jar. You would think with so many covers being pulled lately, a person would think twice before doing "crooked, underhanded schemes".

I guess some are too far gone.

I am glad he was a candidate and not the acutal councilman defrauding the public. It makes a slight difference. There are too many "officials" in the news as of late. Glad they caught him before he could have a chance to run a muck in office if elected IF he is guilty.
