Sanford bank closes after dye pack explosion

Posted August 6, 2008

— A First Citizens Bank in Sanford was closed Wednesday after a dye pack exploded.

It happened before the bank, at 2108 S Horner Blvd., opened to the public.

The employee, who mishandled the pack, suffered minor injuries.

Dye packs, often slipped inside money bags during bank robberies, permanently stain money so everyone is alerted that the cash is stolen.

    Sorry, but that's funny.

What we need is as anti-theft system like they have in Britain. A robber comes into a bank. The teller hits a button and a wall literally comes flying up out of the counter right up to the ceiling, encasing the tellers. It happens so fast that the robber has absolutely no time to react and pull a trigger.

let me guess "one finger on the trigger always?"

When they say "Can I do anything else today for you?" are they holding that dye-pack waiting to throw it in your face???
