HARRELLS, N.C. — Alcohol and reckless driving were blamed for a single-car crash that killed a 2-year-old on Christmas Eve, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Ebony Setera Andrews, 28, of 1180 McCoy Loop Road in Sampson County, lost control of her vehicle as she drove with her two sons in the car.

Jamir Taylor, 2, was thrown from the car and died, according to the trooper who investigated the wreck.

His brother, Treshaun Maurice Taylor, and mother were taken to New Hanover Regional Hospital. Treshaun was released from the hospital on Christmas Day.

According to the wreck report, alcohol and reckless driving contributed to the crash, and neither child was wearing a seatbelt. Authorities were waiting for Andrews to get out of the hospital to file charges.
