Sampson County teen reported missing

— The Sampson County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help to find a missing 16-year-old who is believed to have runaway.

Emily Morgan Carey, who goes by her middle name, was reported missing on Nov. 10 from 573 Cain Road in Garland, said Capt. Eric Pope. Her destination and mode of travel are unknown.

Carey is described as white, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds. She has green eyes and short, brown hair. Pope said that she has changed her hair when she's runaway before.

Carey needs daily medication but doesn't have it with her.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-592-4141 or their local law enforcement agency.

    When they get her back, if she's not had professional counseling before, she sure needs it now.

    I agree that parents of a 16 year old have no control over them. A parent need's to do the best they can to teach there children and pray that when something like this happens the child will be safe. Hope that she returns home safe, soon.

    Problems in the home. This young lady do not realize the danger she is putting herself in. One day may she wake up. Praying that she will be found soon.

    I hope she stays safe as well, but this is a child becoming an adult and knows everything. BTW if anybody checks the parent of a 16 year old has NO way to control them other than if they live with you. They can quit school, move out, anything they wish.

    Its sad to see children run away but we are just hearing about it 9 days later.

    Those 9 days are critical anyone of us could have seen that girl within the past 9 days and it not register at the time because it was just someone else we pass in life.

    Even if she ran away..I will pray for a safe return.
