Identities released in Sampson County murder-suicide
Sampson County authorities on Monday identified a couple killed last week in an apparent murder-suicide in Clinton.

CLINTON, N.C. — Sampson County authorities on Monday identified a couple killed last week in an apparent murder-suicide in Clinton.
Investigators responding to a report of a shooting on Sept. 5 found Shirley Garcia, 55, of 611 Henry Vann Farm Road, dead inside a house at 4901 Old Warsaw Road.
Her estranged husband, Carmelo Garcia, 67, of 11 Homewood Place, Newton Grove, was found dead at his wife's home 13 miles away in what appeared to be a suicide.
Authorities are still awaiting an official cause of death and haven't commented on a possible motive.
