Saginaw Township church breaks ground, looks to expand early childhood program

SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI — Peace Lutheran Church in Saginaw Township is looking to expand its early childhood program.
Those with the congregation held a ground breaking ceremony Sunday morning kicking off the expansion.
Currently, the preschool program begins at three years old.
Pastor Matthew Hauser says there is a need in the Saginaw community for early childhood programs - specifically for those under age 3.
He says the expansion will do just that.
"I think its huge especially for parents that have multiple kids that are at various ages because with one place that you can go for child care as well as early education, now you just have one stop," said Grant Hilger, who attends Peace Lutheran.
No word on when the expansion will be complete.
This is the 5th time the church has expanded in some capacity since 1941.
