Safety Improvements OK'd for Capital Boulevard

The City Council on Tuesday approved new pedestrian safety measures for Capital Boulevard in north Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The City Council on Tuesday approved new pedestrian safety measures for Capital Boulevard in north Raleigh.

Sidewalks, pedestrian signals and refuge islands will be installed between Brentwood and Spring Forest roads, officials said.

During the last four years, 17 pedestrians have been involved in accidents along Capital Boulevard, officials said.
