Rye donating portion of proceeds to families of construction accident

Rye Bar and Southern Kitchen is donating 25 percent of lunch proceeds this week to the families of the victims of the Charter Square building construction accident.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Rye Bar and Southern Kitchen at the Marriott hotel in downtown Raleigh will donate a portion of lunch sales this week to the families of three men killed in a recent construction accident.

Jose Erasmo Hernandez, 41, and Anderson Almeida, 33, both of Durham, and Jose Luis Lopez-Ramirez, 33, of Clinton, died in the accident at the 11-story Charter Square project on Fayetteville Street. Elmer Guevara, 53, was seriously injured and remains hospitalized at WakeMed.

Rye will donate 25 percent of lunch sales Tuesday through Friday, April 3, to a fund for the families of the victims.
