Runners flock to Rock 'n' Roll

Posted January 24, 2014

Raleigh's inaugural Rock 'n' Roll marathon is almost sold out. More than 11,000 runners have registered for the April 13 event, leaving only about 1,500 slots open, organizers said Friday.

The event features live, local bands and motivating cheerleaders along each mile of the course which winds past the governor’s mansion, Rose Garden, Pullen Park and the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences along the 26.2 and 13.1 mile course.

I guess it's fun if you are into that kind of thing, and it's great that the city is getting to host, but personally I don't even want to DRIVE 26 miles, much less run that far! LOL
