Runaway teen sought in Wayne County

— The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is searching for Austin Tyler Thompson, who was last seen Dec. 7. He is believed to be in the area of Northeast Park in Goldsboro.

Austin's parents called authorities on Dec. 12 and reported that he had run away, according to the sheriff's office.

Austin, whose age was not provided, is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs 126 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to have pierced ears.

    this boy is around 16 years old he goes to school with my son! i feel for this family and hope they find him soon! Prayers are going up for the family

    teens run away all the time and I hope this kid is home soon. Why, with teens running away daily, does this one rate WRAL coverage?

    He is a runaway and maybe they were hoping he would come home without police involment. Many runaways go to a friends house or a cousins for a cooling off period then come home.
