Science and math teachers, this one is for you. The Career Awards for Science and Mathematics Teachers will provide $175,000 over a period of five years ($35,000 per year), as well as professional development opportunities, to recipients selected from eligible teachers in the North Carolina K-12 public school system.

The Wake County Public School system is hiring. It's looking for lifelong learning instructors for this summer's session. The instructors teach everything from how to start a home-based business, to learning a craft such as sewing, painting or graphic design, to becoming proficient with a computer application or foreign language.

Keshetta Henderson of Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough is our Teacher of the Week. She had the funniest reaction of all the teachers I've surprised so far. When I called her name she ran from me. I cracked up.
