How can I become greener? Do I have to trade my car to be green? Can I wear make-up and still be green? Is it easy to incorporate “greenness” into my daily life? What are the benefits of being green; is it really going to make a difference? Can I green-up my lifestyle and still take advantage of my own luxuries?

Copyright 2009 by Capitol Broadcasting Company. All rights reserved. The bottled water industry boasts over $11 billion in sales. But environmentally, bottled water consumes a tremendous amount of resources and ditching it is a fast and easy way to green your living.

Shades of Green: Backyard chickens

Green meter: dark green

Shades of Green: Greening your wardrobe

Look good in your new (to you) green wardrobe this coming fall! Greening your wardrobe is as simple as shopping at a charity re-use shop (like Goodwill or the Salvation Army) or consignment shops. I am always surprised at the finds at our local Goodwill. I have often found like-new or brand new garments for all the members of my family. Most consignment shops are very selective in the articles of clothing they will take, so finding hot fashion at good deals are par for the course at many consignment shops.

Shades of Green: Harvesting rainwater

Green meter: medium green

Shades of Green: Conserving water in your home

Suggestions for conserving water in your home.

Shades of Green: Composting

I recently happened across this excellent article that lists 163+ items that you can compost in your home composted at PlanTea, Inc.

Shades of green: Greening your cookout

Suggestions for making your outdoor cooking and eating greener.

Shades of green: Recycle your Crocs

Recycle your Crocs shoes through the SolesUnited Program.

Shades of green: A new resource in town!

Golo greenie group is an excellent resource for aspiring and true greenies.
