That’s the title of a recent article by Massad Ayoob, a well known gun enthusiast, writer, etc. While some of you may be scratching your heads at his name, us certified gun nuts know him and his advice very, very well. He writes a series called the “Ayoob Files” in which he dissects a self defense shooting, analyzing all details, from the good to the bad. I wanted to highlight this particular story because this one is a textbook example of concealed carry and self defense, plus it also gives you some philosophy of those of us that believe in responsible and intelligent concealed carry. The scenarios the anti-gun GOLO members keep setting up, with someone robbing you at gunpoint and you reach for your gun, are not realistic to the thinking gun owner. True, there are some pro-gun people on GOLO that advocate shooting someone for just about anything, but they are not what I classify as the “thinking” gun owner.

There are bad people, and there are evil people. You will encounter them no matter what your path in life. Something of yours will get stolen. Someone will say something bad to you. Someone will lie about you. But the measure of true evil is the driving force behind the bad deeds. Those that do bad for personal gain, jealousy, etc. can be bad, or evil, but there is still a deeper kind of evil that lurks in the souls of some. Their motivation is that they actually get pleasure from hurting others. They tell lies and spread false rumors not just to hurt the other party, but also because of the satisfaction and pleasure it gives them from doing do. This type of evil also dwells on GOLO. And they share the same defining traits with the most evil characters in the history of mankind. The only difference is the level of power to do harm. The same type of evil that amasses armies to slaughter the innocents is the same type of evil that sits behind an keyboard. Deep down, it is the same defective personality. They are connected in some way. They are soul mates.

There is often confusion between what evolutionists (both biological and cosmological) believe and how creationists interpret it. Some have also mistakenly stated that it takes a faith similar to religion to believe in evolution or the current theories of how the universe came to be (i.e. Big Bang).

Before my whining fan club shows up, let me state the disclaimers and warnings. If you can’t handle Thor, Amon-Ra, Vishnu, Apollo, etc. being called a fictional creation of man, leave the blog now. If you can’t handle these gods being called spooks, invisible spirits, etc. leave the blog now. If you can’t handle someone who knows the bible well enough to ask the tough questions, leave the blog now. If you can’t handle civil, logical, intelligent debate and discussion, leave the blog now. If you can’t provide any answers, or feel I shouldn’t even be asking my questions, leave the blog now. If you can’t handle the fact that you can’t logically prove a negative, leave the blog now (i.e. this is for all those that demand a proof that God does not exist).

The recent blog about the corruption present in our court and law enforcement system hit the nail squarely on the head. I was reminded of it this week when I heard a story on NPR. In a nutshell, in 1985, the District Attorney of Lubbock, Texas conspired and succeeded in sending an innocent man to prison for rape. Timothy Cole was convinced of a rape he did not do, and sentenced to 25 years. He didn’t fit the description of the rapist, there was no evidence, and he had alibis. Even after the real rapist confessed to the crime to the DA, the DA took no action to seek the release of Cole. Cole actually died in prison because he was given inadequate care for his asthma.

According to one recent national poll, fully 92 percent of Americans say they believe in God. That should not be surprising as the United States is identified and seen as a Christian nation. Far and away the most favorite god is the one of the Bible, Jehovah. Let’s discuss why people say they believe in God.
