This madness must stop. When are we going to wake up and realize that we have been taking a bait that's been carefully placed in a trap and, over time, has resulted in financial imprisionment for the American people? The good old days of having a strong economy in America are now gone, and the hopes of better days ahead is merely a dream for most of us... fading more and more as our buying habits to save a buck continue to out-source the few jobs we have left.

It was about ten minutes ago that I turned on the news and found out that little 5-year-old Shaniya's body was found in some woods. I am the viewer that is stunned. When these things happen to the defenseless, especially a child, it just tears me up on the inside. The terror that this little girl must have gone through is satanic in nature, and those responsible had better get on their knees and ask for forgiveness, for our God sees everything. Angry he must be. Very angry.

Late one evening last week, I headed over to a friend’s house for a cookout. I was wanting to try some of those hickory wood chunks I had seen in the grocery stores this past summer instead of the charcoal that he had planned to cook with. Agreeing to give them a try, I head over to a Harris Teeter that was on my way and picked up a 10 pound bag of the hickory wood chunks. I love grilling, and trying something different was proving to be exciting. It was like long ago when I would go camping a lot.

Past attempts to give legal rights to the unborn have been a long and bumpy road for many advocates. Unfortunately though, I don't think it will ever be a success as long as abortion is legal. The two methods of killing the unborn (desired through abortion or by murder of mother) would create conflicts within the laws by having double standards involving the life of a child.

7.8 and 7.3, and 7.1 magnitude earthquakes hit south Pacific

At about 6pm this evening, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake ocurred in the South Pacific Ocean about 1000 miles ENE of Australia. The first quake was followed by a second one with a magnitude of 7.3. About one hour later, a 7.1 quake hit in the same vicinity. There are several islands that have been placed under a tsunami warning at this time. (tsunami warnings cancelled)

Feed or flee or stand your ground?

A lot of Labor Day weekend travelers are probably heading either to the beach or to the mountains for one last warm summertime outting. For those going west into Asheville, beware of wildlife if you get deep enough away from civilization, especially where picnic areas are found. Seems that dumspters and food left on the ground have gotten the attention of some black bears. Two of these monster critters have been harrassing the picnic-goers at the popular Craggy Gardens Picnic Area and overlook. One of the bears was trapped, and the other was put down. Their aggressive behavior was brought on by the availability of scraps that filled the forest air with enough scent to trigger their hunger. They just followed their noses.

Anyone seeing any signs of things picking up at work?

There seems to be a lot of people saying the recession is ending. That may be true, but as deep as a hole the economy is in, it is going to take a long time to get back to the way things were before things went south.
