Here you’ll find the thoughts and ramblings of the TV News Photographer. Meet the slightly tilted people who face hurricanes, mobs, dangerous suspects and all manner of ill attitudes to bring you incredible video. They are also the people who touch your heart, make you smile and take you fascinating places through the glass on their lens.

The Shoe Box in the Closet

Richard Adkins
Chief Photographer

Let’s face it. We’re a bunch of Photographers… of course we’re going to keep old pictures of ourselves around. I really got to thinking about this last week when I saw this story on a fellow photogs blog.

(A Dinosaur dig in central Oklahoma... Notice the nice mullet!)

News Photographers get to go some really cool places. We get access to events and places most people never see. So it’s kinda cool to keep the old pictures around to show friends and prove your point when they ask : "What’s the coolest place you’ve ever been?"

(Panama... at the Bridge of the Americas)

I don’t know a lot of News Photogs who’ve aged gracefully (With the possible exception of my good friends Lynn and Courtney). It’s fun to go back and look at the pictures of when us old guys were younger and thinner.

(Showing a little leg at the Lighthouse!)

I don’t want to leave the impression that these photos show "The good ol’ days"… cause I’m not about to throw in the towel. I’ve still got a lot of adventures left in me, and I’m sure there a few more cool pictures left to take.
