Why are you passionate about participating in the KOMEN N.C. Triangle Race for the Cure?

At first, I joined the planning committee because I wanted to volunteer in a community service event and I thought I could help with the awards at the race.

A few years went by and my mother died from cancer (Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma), my aunt died from breast cancer and now my sister-in-law is fighting for her life with a stage four breast cancer metastasis in both her lungs and brain.

We lost Kay Yow and we lost our founder of the Triangle affiliate (Jeanne Pecke) both this year which hurts my heart. I will always run for a cure until we find it and destroy this evil disease.
