Hobbies, Interests and Community Involvement:
I'm a huge foodie. Living in Durham, I always have new places to explore! I also enjoy running half marathons, visiting local parks and trails, and hiking in the mountains.
I volunteer for Duke as an admissions interviewer for prospective students, and as an advisor for the Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter. I'm also a member of the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties, and I foster dogs through Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue.
Family and pets:
My husband, Will. We met as undergrads while we were doing the same Duke summer service program in Cape Town, South Africa. Somehow, we had never met on campus. It took going across an ocean, to another continent!
Pets -- None for now, but a topic of frequent discussion in our household...(stay tuned).
Likes Best About North Carolina:
The diverse restaurants, the sense of community, the fall colors, and (Duke!) basketball.
More About Sarah:
I was born in Texas, but I spent a lot of my childhood living all over the world -- in Burundi and Botswana, Africa, and then in Oxford, England. Living abroad made me realize how many important stories there are to tell. I decided very young I wanted to become a television reporter to tell those stories. I'm thrilled to be at WRAL, doing that in an area I know and love!
