Likes Best About North Carolina:
Where else can you live where you have the mountains three hours away in one direction and the beaches 2.5 hours way in the other direction? North Carolina is ideal in that respect. Even though I was born and raised in Miami and am not a native of North Carolina, the natives here have been so friendly and always have a smile. Oh yeah, and we have some of the most fascinating weather in the nation.

More About Mike:
I feel like it was fate that I became a meteorologist. I have always had an interest in weather for as long as I can remember. When I was in the sixth grade, I used to lie in bed at night listening to my weather radio and hear the forecast over and over again (my brother Bill always thought something was wrong with me when I did this!) Well, I guess I was in training. My dad and I used to sit on the front porch of our house and watch the thunderstorms come in off the Everglades. The displays of lightning were awesome! I always enjoyed that time together with him.

Now that I am an adult, I still find weather awe-inspiring. If you ever see me in public, you might catch me looking up at the sky to see what the clouds are up to. I hope I never lose this passion.
