Hobbies, Interests & Community Involvement:
I've always been a big sports fan. I love to play basketball and volleyball when I get time. And I've grown to be a soccer fan as well, thanks to my soccer-loving husband. I earned a deputy black belt in tae kwon do; hopefully, I'll get back to it some day! I also love to garden. Spring is my favorite time of the year. I can't wait to get my hands in the dirt!
Family & Pets:
My husband and I have three amazing kids. Campbell was born July 2003, Caiden came in April 2005 and Carys was born in February 2007. Nothing brings a smile to my face quicker than seeing them at the end of a day! I'm also very fortunate to have one of my sisters live nearby. My mother, father and older sister still live back in Missouri. I'm a big dog person, both literally and figuratively. We have a blue doberman and two huskies.
Favorite Books & Movie:
One of my favorite movies is "Tommy Boy." I'm not quite sure why, but I laugh up every time I watch it. And you can't leave out the classic "Caddy Shack." I'm hooked on James Patterson books.
Likes Best About North Carolina:
It is the best of both worlds – the beach and the mountains. Plus, I love being in basketball country.
Most Memorable Assignments:
Definitely, Clay Aiken. I interviewed him before he went to Los Angeles to compete on "American Idol." I've followed him the whole way, even going to L.A. during the show's finals. It's amazing how far he's come!
