Weather
Ask the Meteorologists : I am the Emergency Management Coordinator for Granville County, and I also serve as the web site administrator for Granville County Government (www.granvillecounty.org). We used to have an active link to the WRAL Weather Center's page that showed current conditions on our site in a small square and linked to your full site via click. In doing some maintenance on our web site, I noticed that the click-link still works, but the active feed does not. Has this service been suspended or has the active feed link been changed? I would like to continue having this on our site.Ask the Meteorologists : I have a golf related weather question. I've always assumed that the golf ball loses some distance when it is very humid, like after it has rained. However, if rain and humidity are associated with low atmospheric pressure, and low pressure means less dense air, then wouldn't an object traveling through the air encounter LESS resistance and go farther? In other words, doesn't high pressure mean more dense air and low pressure mean less dense air?
Ask the Meteorologists : Can you determine if there is going to be frost on the ground in the mornings in advance? I have noticed that sometimes on 25 degree mornings there is frost on the ground and other mornings when its 25 degrees there is no frost. This information is important to me because I work at SAS Soccer Park and we do not allow people to use our athletic fields when frost is visible because it will kill the grass.
