Roxboro Street closed after truck hits bridge overpass
The 300 block of South Roxboro Street was closed Saturday morning after a tractor-trailer became wedged under the Pettigrew Street overpass, police said.
Posted — UpdatedDURHAM, N.C. — The 300 block of South Roxboro Street was closed for a few hours Saturday morning after a tractor-trailer became wedged under the Pettigrew Street overpass, police said.
The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. Saturday, blocking traffic on Roxboro Street as crews worked to pull the truck from beneath the bridge and inspect the bridge for damage.
At least five other trucks have hit the underside of the bridge since early 2008, according to Durham police statistics.
