Rowan teen charged with bullying for nude Instragram photo
A Rowan County teen is charged with cyberbullying after he posted a nude photo of a 15-year-old girl on Instagram, the social photo sharing network.
Posted — UpdatedSheriff's deputies arrested 17-year-old Juan Bautista at Rowan County High School Friday.
The sheriff's office said Bautista's case has no connection to a rash of other similar cases across the state.
The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into reports of nude photos of students posted to Instagram from a dozen counties.
Authorities have subpoenaed Facebook, which owns Instagram, for user information associated about several accounts, according to search warrants.
School system representatives have said they are cooperating with authorities in the investigation, and authorities are urging parents to talk to their children about the dangers of posing for or posting sexually explicit photos.
