Durham, N.C. — A Rougemont woman died Wednesday morning when she collided head-on with another vehicle on Guess Road north of Durham, authorities said.
Monica Day, 35, was northbound on Guess Road shortly before 9 a.m. when she lost control of her Chevrolet Impala near Milton Road, authorities said. The car crossed the center line and collided with a Jeep Liberty, while a third vehicle swerved to avoid the crash and ran off the road.
An adult and two children in the Jeep were taken to Duke University Hospital, but the extent of their injuries was unknown.
No one in the third vehicle was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
