Raleigh, N.C. — A Rolesville man was charged Wednesday in a weekend hit-and-run crash with a Franklin County ambulance that injured four people, authorities said.
The ambulance was southbound on U.S. Highway 1 near Wake Forest shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday when a 2003 Nissan Sentra turned left in front of the ambulance onto Ponderosa Service Drive, according to the State Highway Patrol.
The collision caused the ambulance to overturn, injuring EMS workers Millard Scott Wheeler of Youngsville, Stephanie Barrett of Youngsville and Sue Winstead of Louisburg and patient Jimmie Ray of Youngsville. The driver of the Nissan fled on foot.
Rudy Alexys Reyes-Marquez, 20, of 607 Ashbrittle Drive, was charged with failure to yield the right of way, not having an operator’s license and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer.
