Rogers Road reopened in Wake Forest after wreck

Posted June 9, 2010

— Authorities reopened Rogers Road in Wake Forest on Wednesday afternoon, three hours after a wreck involving a car and dump truck, Wake Forest police said.

Witnesses said the dump truck was traveling east along Rogers Road around noon when a car pulled into its path from Heritage Branch Road. The vehicles collided causing the truck to overturn and its gas tank to rupture.

A small amount of diesel fuel seeped into a storm drain but the catch basin prevented any of the fuel from entering nearby Smith Creek, police said.

The drivers of both vehicles and a passenger from the car were transported by ambulance to WakeMed Hospital. Their conditions were not available.

People sure need to be a lot more cautious before pulling out into a road or proceeding into an intersection e.g.

Prayers and thoughts with the injured.
