A Rocky Mount high school student was arrested Wednesday morning after school officials found a gun in his possession.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Rocky Mount high school student was arrested Wednesday morning after school officials found a gun in his possession.
Markel Raheem Mattocks, 17, was taken to the Nash County jail and charged with possession of a gun on school grounds, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a handgun by a minor, resisting a public officer and communicating threats.
School officials found a .22 caliber revolver in his coat.
