Rocky Mount, N.C. — Staff Sgt. Rayvon Battle Jr., 25, of Rocky Mount, died earlier this week while serving in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Friday.
Battle, a member of the 38th Engineer Company, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
No other information about his cause of death was released.
