Rocky Mount shooting under investigation

A Rocky Mount man is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered Sunday night.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Rocky Mount man is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered Sunday night.

Police found Dennis Dwayne Dickens outside 700 E. Grand Avenue just after 9 p.m. Dickens, who had been shot in the hip, was taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police are investigating who shot Dickens and why, but released no information on Monday.
