— Two people face charges in the death of a teenager found dead in a Rocky Mount home Tuesday night.

Johnathan Lamont Hargrove, 18, of Whitakers, and Kionte Marquis Ransome, 18, of Rocky Mount, were arrested Wednesday on first-degree murder charges in the death of Jose Antonio Martinez.

Police responding to a report of an aggravated assault found Martinez dead at a house at 224 Jackson St. Investigators believe his death was the result of a drug deal that turned violent.

Hargrove and Ransome, who were each jailed without bond Friday, also face one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
