A police cruiser and pickup truck wrecked around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hunter Hill Road and Winstead Avenue, authorities said.

There was no word on whether anyone was injured or how the crash happened.

The intersection is the same place where Rocky Mount Police Officer Alan Christopher Silver was involved in a wreck on April 29, 2007. He was responding to a robbery call when his patrol car collided with another vehicle. He died days later.

That is a very dangerous intersection, people are constantly running the red light or pulling out in front of oncoming traffic. We've had to slam on brakes numerous times to avoid hitting some idiot that pulled out in front of us while we had the green light at that intersection. Have also seen several times where people are just not paying attention to their surroundings & have not slowed down of moved for emergency sirens/lights almost causing more accidents. Hope everyone is ok.
