Rocky Mount police charge woman with murder
Rocky Mount police charged Joan Johnson, 60, with first-degree murder Friday.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police charged Joan Johnson, 60, with first-degree murder Friday. They blame her for the death of Arthur Stuart Galloway, 61, who was assaulted Wednesday and died at Vidant Medical Center.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1500 block of Sunset Avenue Wednesday where they found Galloway.
Johnson was being held in Nash County Jail without bond. Police did not specify the nature of the relationship between the two or say whether they both lived at the Sunset Avenue home.
