My heart goes out to all who have been affected by the lost of Officer Alan C. Silver. Alan was a great man, even in his days of elementary, middle and high school. A student leader, an academic leader and an all around good guy. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to share in Alan's life by serving as one of his teachers.

Secondly, I would like to commend the police officers and the City of Rocky Mount, they really served the family well.

As a city, we should continue to uplift one another and more than ever before unite the way that our God desires us to.
Rest for now Alan, we will see you in Heaven when we get there!

My wife works with the spouse of one of the other officer's on the Rocky Mount force. They say that the city is citing this officer with a violation and that his family will have to pay a fine. I am told that many officers are very upset about this. I can understand that they may have to list him "at fault" because he did not "pause" at the intersection, but having the family to pay a fine is a bit much. The man has passed on, he paid a very heavy price. Is it really necessary to hit his family with a fine? My thoughts are with the men and women in the Rocky Mount Police force. I know this is a very tough time for them and emotions are apparently running very high.

I will light a candle for Officer Silver and his family. I'm sure he will get a brand new car, with wings on it, to drive around in heaven.

We all should be thinking about this young man and his family and keep them in prayer.

This officer was the first fatality for the Rocky Mount Police Dept. I am praying for the Silver family and for Officer Silver's fellow officers. This has to be a very emotional time for the dept. Wherever you are on Sunday @2pm take a moment to pause and remember this young man and the sacrifice he made for our community.
