A Rocky Mount police officer who died on his way to a police call will be laid to rest on Sunday.

<b>ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.</b> — A Rocky Mount police officer who died on his way to a police call was laid to rest Sunday.<br />

Officer Allen Silver died as a result of his injuries from a collision with an SUV last Sunday. The SUV driver and his 11-year-old son were not seriously hurt. <br />

The service was held at Morning Star Church, and he was buried at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
