Rocky Mount man charged with second murder in two weeks

Edgecombe County authorities on Friday charged a Rocky Mount man with murder - two weeks after Nash County authorities charged him in a separate homicide.

PRINCEVILLE, N.C. — Edgecombe County authorities on Friday charged a Rocky Mount man with murder – two weeks after Nash County authorities charged him in a separate homicide.

The latest charge against Te'von Lamont Mabry, 18, of 523 Washington St., involves the Oct. 20 shooting death of 29-year-old Tavon Dionte Clark in Princeville.

Mabry was already in the Nash County jail without bond after being charged Nov. 6 with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder in the shooting death of 15-year-old Lavontae Brown, a freshman at Rocky Mount High School.

Michael Antoine Lyons Jr., 19, of Rocky Mount, also was charged in Brown's death, while J’Von Charmorris Coley, 21, of Pinetops, has been charged in Clark's shooting.
