Rocky Mount man arrested in ongoing drug investigation
A Rocky Mount man was arrested Friday as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and use of illegal drugs in the city.
Posted — UpdatedAntonio Jermaine Knight, 21, of 513 S. Vyne Street, was located in the parking lot of a Lowe’s store and fled on foot as members of the Tar River Regional Task Force approached his vehicle.
Knight was arrested after a brief chase, authorities said.
Authorities said Knight was in possession of 120 bindles of heroin with a street value of $2,400, two grams of marijuana, and $595 in cash.
Knight was charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for keeping and selling a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and resisting or obstructing a public officer.
He was being held at the Nash County Detention Center under $250,000 secured bond.
