Rock Quarry Road closed after wreck

— Rock Quarry Road in downtown Raleigh has been shut down since a wreck damaged power lines Thursday evening, police said.

A woman suffered minor injuries in the wreck on Rock Quarry Road, near Lenoir Street, and was taken to WakeMed, police said.

Rock Quarry Road was shut down for repairs to the power lines. Northbound is being diverted at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and southbound is being diverted at Lenoir Street.

    the latest craze with these people is putting speakers behind the front grill of their junk cars to share their awful music with everyone around them.

    There are always people speeding from the hood to the Cookout on New Bern along Rock Quarry at speeds twice the legal limit.

    Along with that curve, there have been numerous accidents, including someone hitting a building recently.

    The speed limit should be dropped to 25 and it should be enforced along with noise ordinances as the latest craze with these people is putting speakers behind the front grill of their junk cars to share their awful music with everyone around them.

    RPD needs to stay off Bragg Street and patrol Rock Quarry more.
