ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Authorities in Nash County have asked for help in identifying a suspect they think participated in two robberies.

In Dortches, surveillance cameras caught an image of a thin, white man between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall. He entered the Dollar General on Thursday at about 10:30 a.m. wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Witnesses said he had a small, black handgun, possibly a .380 semi-automatic, and left the scene in a green, four-door Toyota Camry.

Authorities think the same man is responsible for a robbery Wednesday at the Quality Inn, 1200 Benvenue Road in Rocky Mount. The lobby clerk there said a white man wearing dark clothing, gloves, sunglasses and a mask showed a weapon and demanded money.

Anyone with information about either of these crimes is asked to call the Rocky Mount Police Department at 919-972-1411, the Nash County Sheriff's Office 919-459-4121 or Twin County Crime Stoppers at 919-977-1111.
