Robberies at 3 Chapel Hill Apartments Probed

Police said the same suspects were believed to have committed the Tuesday night stickups at three complexes.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Police were investigating Tuesday night robberies at three apartment complexes and said the crimes likely were related.

The robberies were reported between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kingswood Apartments, on N.C. Highway 54 Bypass; Pinegate Apartments, on Pinegate Circle; and Kings Arms Apartments, on Ephesus Church Road. All three robberies involved Hispanic victims who were approached in a parking lot by two teens armed with a handgun, police said.

No one was injured in any of the incidents.

The robbers were described as black males, 17 to 19 years old, standing 6 feet to 6 feet, 4 inches tall with thin builds. They were wearing black shirts and black pants.
