Robber with fake nose hits Wake Forest bank

A man asked a teller at Capital Bank, 12217 Capital Blvd., for money and fled on foot in the direction of Hampton Way, said Bill Crabtree, a spokesman for the Wake Forest Police Department.

"The subject had communicated to a teller that it was a hold-up," Crabtree said.

The suspect was described slender, about 6 feet 3 inches tall and wore a white baseball cap, a blue jacket with white stripes on the sleeves and blue jeans. He had a fake nose taped to his face and stubble or acne scars on his chin.

Anyone in the vicinity of Capital Bank this afternoon between noon and 1:15 p.m. with information about this incident should call the Wake Forest Police Department at 919-556-9111.

Crabtree said that investigators will look at any possible links to other bank robberies in the area, but the suspect in the Wake Forest robbery is significantly taller than the suspect dubbed the "Repeat Robber" by authorities.

The "Repeat Robber" has committed at least 11 robberies at banks around the Triangle over the past few weeks. He's also a suspect in a 2009 Raleigh bank robbery.

The "Repeat Robber" is described as a black man about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium-to-heavy build. He has worn a baseball cap and sunglasses to commit each of the crimes.
