Robber stole money, security system from Fayetteville business

Posted December 30, 2013

— Investigators in Fayetteville are looking for a man who they say used a knife to rob a cigar store and then stole the store's security system.

Police responded at 12:03 a.m. Monday to Quality Cigars, at 6577 Fisher Road, where they say a man fled with an unknown amount of cash toward Summerwood Drive.

Authorities say the store owner confronted the man and fired a handgun into the air when the robber brandished the knife.

There were no reported injuries.

Police provided only a vague description of the robber. He was between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, had a slender build and wore a white baseball cap, a white hooded sweatshirt with stripes and black pants.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483- 8477.

So today while you are in the cumberland, hoke or robinson county area every time you see a short slender male you call leo it might be the suspect. Hopefully by now he has had time to change clothes. Maybe then the news might be able to get a full description of a suspect when police get tired of all the phone calls

Firing a gun into the air just wastes the bullet he could have put in the robber. Fail on the shop owners part.

Good description, I'm betting his picture is already on file at the LEO"s office.
