Road race to temporarily close some Cary streets Saturday

— Several streets will close temporarily in Cary on Saturday to accommodate runners for the Roundabout Cary 5K, town officials said.

The race route will close from 7:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., or until all runners pass through.

Cary police will reroute traffic. The closures include the following streets:

  • East and West Chatham Street from E. Durham Street and Old Apex Road (between each roundabout)
  • Academy Street from Chatham Street and Dry Avenue
  • Hunter Street from Chatham and Waldo Streets
  • Waldo Street from Hunter and Urban Streets
  • Urban Street from Waldo and Chatham Streets

    Hope the runners can figure out the roundabout better than the cars can. It is really pretty funny watching people in cars try to figure it out and it's only 1 lane.
