WARWICK, R.I. — A Rhode Island high school is in mourning after the sudden death of its principal.
The superintendent of Warwick Public Schools said in a statement that Toll Gate Principal Stephen Chrabaszcz died Tuesday night. No cause of death was given.
Superintendent Phil Thornton called the principal an "institution" who was "respected by his colleagues, and beloved by many staff and students."
Thornton says Chrabaszcz was available to parents and teachers 24.7.
School was open on Wednesday, and grief counselors have been made available to students and staff.
Chrabaszcz was principal at Toll Gate since 2006.
