Rewards offered in two unsolved Durham homicides

— Crime Stoppers rewards are being offered for information leading to arrests in two 2010 homicides, Durham police said Wednesday.

Carlos Noe Parada Rivas, 19, was shot on Sept. 25, 2010,and died at Duke University Hospital. Investigators said they believe the shooting took place in the area of Duke Street and Horton Road in northern Durham, and they don't believe it was a random act.

Marquis Deir Orr, 27, was shot in a back parking lot of the Millennium Hotel on Campus Walk Drive on Dec. 3, 2010. Investigators said they don't believe this was a random shooting either.

    What about the case where 4 guys were shot in the townhouse? Heck, for that matter, what about the dozens of other unsolved cases?

    Compared to the price of not solving them....

    This could be a costly precedence. Paying to solve crime and murders in particular in Durham could get very expensive.
