Firefighters found Elden Kitson Vanderwall, 71, dead in his home at 216 Brewer Road while they were responding to a fire around 4:20 a.m. Saturday.

An autopsy found that his death was not the result of a fire, authorities said, although they haven't said how Vanderwall died.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 910-947-2931 or the department's anonymous tip line at 910-947-4444.
