Orange County, N.C. — The body of 85-year-old Rev. Junior “Kenneth” Kallam, who had been missing since Monday evening, was pulled from an Orange County pond Tuesday afternoon.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a pond near N.C. Highway 54 and Gold Mine Loop Road Tuesday afternoon and found Kallam. They are waiting on the results of an autopsy to determine how he died.
Authorities said that family members last heard from the man Monday evening, when he said he was going fishing. The family became concerned when they could not reach him Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said.
A fishing rod and other tackle were located near Kallam's body.
