Residents invited to weigh in on I-40/440 improvements

Public hearing will be held today in Raleigh

A project that will have a significant impact on travel in the Triangle goes before the public Thursday.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation wants to replace the pavement on a 30-year-old stretch of Interstate 40/440.

The project would affect I-40 from west of the Jones Franklin Road overpass to the exit for I-440/U.S. Highway 64. The stretch of I-440 between I-40/U.S. Highway 64, and just north of the Knightdale Bypass, also would be affected.

Residents are invited to attend a public hearing on the project from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Wake County Commons Building in Raleigh.
